1. Who we are

FinRise Tools (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website finrisetools.com, a free collection of financial calculators. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us at admin@finrisetools.com or through our contact page.

2. Information we collect

Numbers you enter into calculators

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. Salaries, loan balances, interest rates and any other numbers you type are calculated on your own device. They are not sent to our server, and we do not collect or store them.

Information you send us

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive the information you choose to share: usually your name, email address, the topic of your message and the message itself. Please do not send sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords or Social Security numbers.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, some information is collected automatically when you visit:

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This is used to run and secure the site.
  • Analytics data. Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city or region level), device type and how you arrived. See Analytics.
  • Advertising data. If ads are shown, Google and its partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies. See Advertising.
  • Web fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. We and our partners use them for these purposes:

  • Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful and how visitors move around the site.
  • Advertising cookies are used by Google and its partners to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and, where allowed, personalize ads.
  • Functional cookies may be set by WordPress, for example if you log in as a site administrator. Regular visitors do not need to log in.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators still work if you block cookies.

Recently used calculators. To show the calculators you used most recently at the top of our homepage, the site saves a short list of calculator page addresses in your browser’s local storage. This list stays on your device, is never sent to our servers and contains no personal or financial information. You can remove it at any time with the “Clear” link on the homepage or by clearing your browser data.

4. Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to show advertising on this site. Please note:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. Visitors in Europe can use www.youronlinechoices.eu.

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your browsing. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads and non-essential cookies are used, through a consent message shown on the site.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to measure how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit and how long you stay. We use this only in summary form, to see which calculators are useful and where we can improve. We do not use it to identify you personally.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. How we use information

  • To reply to your messages and fix errors you report.
  • To run, maintain, secure and improve the website.
  • To understand which pages are useful, using analytics in summary form.
  • To show advertising that keeps the site free.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site:

  • Hosting: our web host stores the website and its server logs.
  • Google: for analytics, advertising and web fonts, as described above.
  • Email: messages you send us are delivered to and stored in our email service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

Under some U.S. state laws, allowing advertising cookies that personalize ads may count as “sharing” or “selling” personal information, even when no money changes hands. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time using the links in the Advertising section.

8. How long we keep information

We keep messages you send us for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the conversation, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Cookies: block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • Personalized ads: opt out through Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
  • Analytics: use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Your messages: ask us to see or delete any messages you have sent us.

Depending on where you live, including certain U.S. states and the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, contact us at admin@finrisetools.com. We will respond as required by the law that applies to you, and we will not treat you differently for making a request.

10. Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the site, including an encrypted HTTPS connection. No website or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other websites

Our pages may link to other websites, such as government sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please review their policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
